Uncanny

Today is a snow day.  Well, a half snow day.
School doesn't start until 10am.

But, that means everyone can sleep in.

So, guess what?  Of course!

They're awake!

At 7:30!!

Yesterday, I had to drag them out of bed, at 8!!!

But, today?

Up and at 'em all on their own and nearly 2 hours before they need to be.  And, this is not the first time they've done this.  They seem to have an uncanny ability to know when days like today occur.  And, then they willfully flout the opportunity for a lie-in.

How does this happen?  Why does this happen?  What can I do to keep it from happening?

Sleeping in is my favorite luxury, my fondest dream, my heart's desire.

Why could my offspring not have inherited that from me?

I hear you. It seems like a trait that should be genetic. Neither Brandon or I are morning people, yet the Little Guy is at 7. Sometimes 6:30. "They" say it's good and appropriate for babies to wake up at that time. My body has a different story.

Don't worry teenage days will be here before you know it and then you'll be blogging about how hard it is to get them up! Isabelle, the almost pre-teen, is already starting!!
