As you can see from our ticker we are leaving Peru in seven days. Because of this I am up to my ears in packing, sorting, purging, weighing (I think we are over our weight limit and I REALLY don't want to have to pay), donating, selling, visiting, photographing and stressing about all the minutiae that comes with this kind of move, thus the blog is languishing. But, it is Father's Day and I would be remiss if I didn't at least acknowledge my two favorite Dads even if I don't have the time to do them justice.
I know they say girls tend to go for guys that remind them of their fathers when they are looking for "mr. right" and while my father and my husband are very different people in many ways, they do have several things in common. The following are some of my favorite traits shared by the dads I love best...
They both:
love to read (though my husband prefers non-fiction and my Dad would rather slit his wrist)
value education
love children - especially mine
read every description of every exhibit in museums
are far neater than their wives
love to travel and do so often
are successful in their chosen professions
are patient with children - especially mine
love music
are dedicated to their families, god and their faith
are excellent providers
make me laugh
are always up for an adventure or road trip
do housework
never tire of visiting churches
are humble in their professional success
are supportive of and kind to their wives
enjoy musical theater
have extensive wardrobes and like to shop for themselves and their wives
are generous with their time, talents and resources
make me proud to know and love them
Happy Father's Day!

Looks like you've got two winners on your hands!!
Question- are you making a pit-stop in Utah before Caracas??
Sounds like 2 great men to have in your life!!
Good luck with the rest of the packing and the big move!
They like to shop for you? That is awesome.
Happy Father's Day!
Good luck with the move!
Please please send me a pic of your new purse- preferably with you wearing it. I need to blog about smart peeps to take my advice.
wow, looks like you have an amazing husband AND father! Your family is really lucky and blessed :)
Isn't it great to have good people around you?
Good luck with the packing. If I could, I'd totally come help you purge and even pack the boxes. But no lifting. Doctors orders. =) Hope all goes well. I'll be looking forward to pictures of Caracas!
What a great idea for a post. I need to remember it for next year!
Yes! And doesn't it make you happy to know your two boys have such great heroes to look up to?
I agree with Jessica...that is a great idea how you posted about both men.
Good luck with your move...I know it has to be very stessful right now.
Very nice tribute to the men in your life. I have a son named Isaac too, but we call him Ike.
I found your blog through "the gab blog." I was excited to find someone who lived in Peru and I assume, is a member of the church. My brother is on a mission in Peru (Arequipa.) I don't know where you live, but if you ever meet an Elder Decker...tell him hi! I find Peru to be a fascinating place.
That was great, gave me goose bumps! You're one lucky lady!
How do you put a 'ticker' on your blog? We're moving SOON, I want a ticker too!!
Are you there yet? Are you there yet? Are you there yet? :)
It's been a while since we've heard from you. We hope all is well and you've been having a great time in the States and soon? settling back to S.America...we can't wait to hear about all your fun and adventures :)
