Photo of the Day: Day 3

Easter Sunday 2009

Looking at this photo makes me think about the future and what kind of men these boys will grow to be. They are so different, but the same in that they are both mine. I feel daunted by the responsibility to introduce them to all the flavor, opportunity and possibility that life has to offer. I want the world for them and, naively, I pray they will never suffer the pain of bitterness or despair. I want them to love each other and to love period. I hope they will be confident in their decisions and unrestrained in their appreciation of art, music, dance, science, language and literature. But, above all, I hope they find in their lives the joy they bring to mine.

Amen. Lovely sentiments and gorgeous boys. I miss my tiny boys. All three of my kids are in the decade of decisions. They are all doing so well with making those tough lifetime choices that will help determine, to a large extent, their future.

Beautifully said. You know, I think they'll live up to many of your hopes and also surprise you in some wonderful ways. I agree with Diane--I miss my little guy/gals.

Linsey! So glad you are back.

Thank you for being my first Christmas card of the season! We are doing our map again and the kids were excited to find Venezuela.

I miss my little kids, too. Except searching for their shoes, and taking them to the grocery store, and scrubbing marker off the wall, and fights over who sits by the window. Oh, and dinner.

Let's just say I LOVE remembering it all and I'm glad they have the chance to do all that fun stuff for their own kids.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Love, Anybody

Even if they do suffer those levels of bitterness and/or despair, the hope is that opposition will allow them to experience opposite levels of joy and happiness! (I know I sure have!) So as much as my momma wishes none of the yucky stuff happened to me, I sure don't regret it! I think it allows me to be a better ME. :)

That was so beautifully written. I desperately hope for those wonderful things for my boys, too.

They are both so, so, cute.
